"Two way" means that each of these speakers has a tweeter and a woofer. "Three way" speakers have a tweeter, a woofer, and a mid-range driver. Tweeters produce high frequency sound; woofers produce low frequency sound; mid-ranges produce mid-range frequency sound. Three way speakers have a broader and more realistic sound spectrum than two way speakers, but sometimes, even oftentimes, the difference between the two types of speakers is not really evident to the casual listener.
