QuestionThis doesn't come w/ a subwoofer, does it have a bass sound? I like bass but i like to turn it off at times. I bought bose companions & they're great but my wife says she can hear the bass. It bugged her, so i bought cmputer speakers which i blewout

- Answer These are comparable to the Bose companions except there are bass and treble controls so you can turn down the bass. I've owned both sets of speakers.

QuestionFirst, do these have an onboard DAC? If not, can you run an RCA out from a FiiO K5 Pro Dac/Amplifier into the Edifiers so to take advantage of the FiiO DAC? I ask because most computer DACs are said to be notoriously inferior.

- Answer The powered speaker connects via RCA ports (includes RCA -RCA and RCA -headphone cables). if your preferred DAC has those outputs, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. The second speaker is powered off the first and connects with standard speaker wire (included).

- Answer Maybe. "Record players" have strange EQ and output levels compared to modern standards, so it may sound ugly. But the inputs are standard RCA plugs, so you can certainly connect them up.

- Answer Inputs are RCA connectors, so any line out from your receiver will work. A headphone out may work too, but impedance may not be optimal.

- Answer You need a phono preamp. BestBuy sells the Pyle PP-555 for about $20; that'll make these speakers sing.
