• No, it does not have an auto-shutoff. As soon as it starts to pop slowly you must turn off the heat dump popcorn into the bottom of the machine. If you leave the light on it will also stay on all night. The bottom of the machine has a heater built under the popcorn tray so it is not advised to keep the light on all night. In other words, you can not set this machine unattended.

• No, the popcorn will flow out as it pops but you still need to tip the bucket over and turn the switch off for the stirrer and the pot heater. It also has a switch for the light heater.
