QuestionEpson 640 Printer is 3 months old. Today it would not print- ink level warning. I replaced the cartridge with a new (real) Epson cartridge, but still get a message that ink level is too low. In fact, it shows no ink at all. Any thoughts?

- Answer Take the ink cartridge out and reinstall it. Then reboot the printer

QuestionI don't understand when the two black cartridges are used or how they relate to each other. If I'm printing black & white and the pigment-based black runs out, will the photo black then be used?

- Answer No, the printer will not print in black and white if the color cartridges are empty. It gives you an error and you have to replace the empty cartridges.

- Answer Not sure about cloud, but if you can display the cloud photo on your device you should be able to print it. The printer has SD card slots, so Yes you can print from an SD card

- Answer Yes, the Expressions XP-640 will print on blank hub-printable CD's or DVD's or Blu Ray disks. They must be Hub Printable to work.

- Answer Check which cassette it is getting the paper from. There are two. I think you can default it to one or the other

QuestionI received a notification that my ink needed replacing. According to the guide my color ink is about half full so I only replaced the black. I continue to receive the same error message as it does not seem to recognize I changed the cartridge.

- Answer Try removing all the cartridges and reinstalling them. If that doesn't work you can do a reset of your machine. Seems I saw the procedure in the tech info.

- Answer No you can only use # 410 cartridges. Using others may damage your machine and may not fit

- Answer I have the same issue with mine. When the photo black cartridge is empty, it won't even allow me to print a sheet with just text on it. Really a bummer and I'd love it if someone else has a solution to this. Yes the cartridges are in the right place.

- Answer You can buy non- photo ink for regular printing. Its cheaper.
