QuestionWhat is the rating of this scanner in terms of long term daily scan volume. Is it designed for high volume scanning, say 5000 or more pages per day? How long will it last in high volume use?

- Answer Hello Jackie. The ES-865 Document Scanner has a peak daily duty cycle of 7,000 sheets. This peak daily duty cycle is the highest recommended number of scanned sheets per day. For best results, we recommend not exceeding the peak daily duty cycle. These calculations are based on the maximum scanning speed and an assumed daily use time. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.

- Answer Once tou plug the scanner in, navigate to the Epson site and the updating process (if any) is super quick. Your off and scanning right away. We love our for the business. Makes transitioning paper documents into digital files a breeze!

- Answer Hello Stumpy. When using the Epson ScanSmart software with the ES-865, you can save a scanned file to editable Microsoft Office file formats using OCR (Optical Character Recognition).
