My 'trial' size ink cartridges that came with the computer show 1/2 used of black and under 1/5 used of the 3 colors in 3 weeks of moderate use. There is an adjustable 'density' feature that allows you to choose how heavy to print, which I have used and does save. I especially like having the 3 color cartridges instead of only the 1 to replace.
