“Does this unit have a battery backup to power the device if power is lost through an outage?”

• No it doesn't. The other thing I didn't like about this wired system is that it bypasses your original chime box so that it doesn't work anymore. Supposedly, the battery operated system lets you use your original chime box at least that's what the Eufy Rep. said. So I'm switching mine out.

• no, this version requires external power. I am using the existing power that was used to light up/power my original door bell button outside.
