In short the cooler on the XC Ultra is better than the Founders Edition. This means lower temperatures and thus better overclocking potential. Reviews show the XC Ultra having temps around 10-15 degrees cooler than the FE. Another huge benefit of the XC Ultra is it’s made by EVGA who has the best customer service of any AIB Partner. They offer 24/7 support and should you ever have a problem they are quick to do all they can to correct the issue. They (evga) also have a “Step Up” program. This allows you to buy a card and provided you register the GPU within 14 days of the purchase date you can “step up” to a better card. The options are kind of limited but as an example you could buy this 2080 then if within 90 days you decide you need more power you could trade it in for a 2080ti. They take the price you paid excluding taxes and any discount and apply it to the new card and you pay the difference. No other company offers a deal like this. I only buy eVGA cards for the above reasons. Sometimes electronics fail, it happens, and having a company that stands behind their product especially when it costs nearly $1000 is important to me.

I believe these cards are also clocked higher from the factory. Truthfully, if you don't plan on OCing a little bit, you might be happy with the 2080 FE. However, I believe the EVGA cards have always looked better. So take that for what you will.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The same reasoning behind OEM versus aftermarket car parts. The Founders will work fine, but the "aftermarket" cards have modified the design to give either better cooling or better overall performance. Quality may not be the same though.
