“What is the difference between this card and the NVIDIA Founders Edition GTX Geforce 1080 PCI Express Express 3.0? I saw that the clock speed is 1ghz higher but why is that if everything else is the same?”

They are not the same. There are many differences between these two cards... EVGA does a whole different circuit board controller and multiple fans. The only similarity is the GPU at their core. EVGA cards are very good... but every once in a while, you'll get one with a defect. EVGA has been hit or miss on their returns lately. My last two cards had bad memory in them.... clearly a manufacturing / supply issue. The FE NVIDIA versions do run much hotter. That the nature of their design. The EVGA will run much cooler. Out of box performance will be much better with the EVGA.... but you can Overclock both of them... but you'll have more room to play in the OC area with the FE edition. Stay away from the EVGA superclocked versions. I don't recommend them. Heat is your enemy in electronics. Cool products last. Heat kills electronics.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your buying this because of the superior heatsinking and quality control. I have four of these for cryptomining and they seem to be rock steady. I bought one of the founders edition and had to return it because something went wrong with it. Be aware that these cards do need good ventilation if you put them in a case because most of the heat disperses inside the case. The other issue is that nvidia has not improved the memory drivers if you plan on using this for other purposes except graphics. there are noticeable speed bumps and increases in frame rate due to this newer memory but very poor for etherium mining.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The clock speed is slightly higher on the evga model and it has two fans.. I ran both in tandem sli..using the evga software to overclock them and they both performed similarly.. the evga also comes with a free game..or did...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The founders edition has more cores, but this has a higher clock speed. It is a trade off, this card is really worth the value if you dont feel like dumping $700+
