Should be good. I got mine in store around Sept/Oct 2017 and contacted support and said it should be good and had had the ICX cooler on it. I also swapped to a hybrid cooler and can confirm it had the thermal pads.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Im 99% sure they are newer models judging by the box and the fact the card has ICX style cooling and not the ACX that was prone to the issue more. I have been running this card for a month or so now and have never had any overheating issues on max settings in multiple games.

Please try again later.The original super clocked EVGA 1080 that released had the ACX cooler and this one has the ICX cooler that was released later so I would assume that it has had the thermal mod already put in from the manufacturer. I have also purchased this card and I have been running it for over a month now with no thermal issues.
