Normally 3rd party cards are going to be cheaper but i have the FE and it works great but if i had a 3rd party 1080 it would run cooler
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Founders Edition just means that the card was manufactured by Nvidia itself as a retail card. Typically in the past, Nvidia would develop the card and pass it on to the other partners (EVGA, Gigabyte, Etc) to handle the cooling and other aspects. They have a markup for the promise of craftsmanship. With EVGA or Gigabyte you might get factory overclocked cards which have higher core clock speeds and therefore should have better performance. Warranties can also differ between companies as is their support. I have tried Gagabyte, EVGA, ASUS, MSI, etc and always end up with EVGA in the end. The factory overclock for minimal or sometimes no cost and their factory warranty and support is superb.
