“I see the power cable is a pigtail, one is the plug in power and the other looks like a internet cable connection, do you need this internet cable connection if so why? Would use it for a stronger connection to the camera if you did not/could not use WiFi”

This device can be connected using an Ethernet cable or using WiFi connectivity. Users have the preference to use either way to connect the device to the WiFi
