This tracker is water resistant up to 33.9 ft.

Answer

Fitbit Alta is Rain, sweat and splash proof. However, it is not swim proof. And I don't recommend showering with any Fitbit, after experience.

From my understanding it is waterproof insofar as it can be splashed (when running in the rain). I have read and would not recommend swimming with the tracker.

The overview says Waterproof, but, the instructions say take it off in water. Your choice to wear in the shower or pool,. I don't because the instructions say don't wear in the water.

This is not waterproof, you should not wear it in the shower. FitBit recommends that if the product gets wet you should dry it immediately.
