It will tell you how many steps towards your hourly goal at 10 minutes till the next hour (like at 3:50, 4:50, etc). But no, not anything like a "hey, get up and move" after you've been sitting at your desk a while.

You use the app to adjust which hours you want to be tracked for activity, so that you don't get buzzed at midnight telling you to move. The watch will buzz sometime during each hour to let you know how many steps you have left in that hour. It will also buzz when you reach 250 steps for the hour. So yes and no; it does notify you to remind you to reach the 250 steps each hour, but it does not just buzz if you have been inactive for, say, 20 mins or anything.
