Not knowing the specifics as to why his arm stops the watch action, it sounds like it could be a size or fit issue. I would evaluate the band style based on their size/fit, mobile device OS and features. I have not experienced any watch operational issues with the FitBit Charge 3 during the past month (I have experienced some syncing issues though). The device fits my arm but is too big for my wife's wrist so she has a Garmin Vivosmart 4 (the FitBit Alta HR was too tall). If you using Android phone, there are curved bands by Samsung. If you have Apple iOS, some of these devices may not be compatible. I have know some people say the curve of the device is too short, or long, for their wrist so the sizing is important. I chose the band style, over the watch style, for comfort during sleeping to monitor my sleep. I am not sure if the sizing / fit is keeping the watch from working but it is something that I would explore. Once you know the best fit, then you can start narrowing the options based on desired features. You may want to post on the devices' user board for any advice. Hope this is a helpful start.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Perhaps a bio tracker with a plastic back would solve this problem.
