Not positive but Fitbit needs to be connected via WiFi for gps to work properly. Suggest using Fitbit forum.

Please try again later.GPS in the device is not meant to be used for tracking purposes, but rather to track exercise sessions, distance, pace etc with more precision and without the need to go out running while also carrying your phone. It also eats through the battery pretty fast and is not meant to last more than a few hours of continuous usage. You will not be able to track your son with this device in the way you seem to be expecting. Also, this device would be too complex for a 6 year old and will likely bring them little to no benefit or enjoyment.
