QuestionDo you have to pay for a membership for this fitbit to work? I saw the comment in the one person's review about a $80 membership fee.

- Answer Yes, for some of the features like ECG, you need the premium service. You can still use all the basic functions (step counting, sleep, etc.) without, but even then it might be less user friendly. Once I realized about the ECG locking, I returned before seeing what else premium unlocks.

QuestionIs it a requirement to have the paid subscription? That is something I do not want. The fitbit app I used for the Charge 3 is all I want.

- Answer No you do NOT have to have a paid subscription for the normal functions. I’ve had Fitbit for 10 years and have never upgraded to more gadgets .

- Answer Yes it does but beware of this new Fitbit Charge because the battery life is terrible. I have to charge it daily and I’ve gone through all the trouble shooting with no luck at fixing it.

QuestionHow visible is the display in sunshine and daylight? I had a couple Charge 3 devices (4 to be exact). They were terrible in bright light ... I'm worried that this problem still exists. They also died early

- Answer This has a totally different display than the previous Charge models. It’s bright, colorful and I have absolutely no problems seeing it in the sunlight.

- Answer You can buy without membership and get access to basic health tracking data, such as steps, heart rate, active minutes. The membership provides access to additional health data and statistics.

- Answer The Charge 5 comes with 2 band sizes. The total length of the Charge 5 laid flat - smaller band is 9.5", longer band is 10.75".

- Answer I got the protection plan but when the screen went blank i went to get a replacement under the protection plan and they only gave me store credit now im out a watch till i can get a new one.

- Answer No, it was a piece of garbage. Don’t waste your money. The band’s magnet didn’t connect very good and constantly fell off my wrist. I lost it hiking after 4 days.

- Answer 2 years if you are a Total Tech Member. If not, make sure you buy the extended warranty. I am on my third Charge 5 due to issues, but i love it, and Best Buy warranty period resets to exchange date (at least with Total Tech). Not sure if extended warranty date resets.

- Answer As long as you're asleep for at least an hour, a nap will register as sleep and contribute to your sleep report. Hope this helps!
