Hi Denise, Thank you for your enquiry. PVC is a heat sensitive material, we therefore recommend placing the mat in a warm room for up to 72 hours with heavy objects such as books on the edges of the mat. If after this time your mat will still not lay flat, please send some photos of your mat over to our customer service team who can investigate this issue further.
