This unit normally starts in ECON Mode. Just press cool at startup
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the 12,000 BTU unit and the econ mode appears to work this way: When I have it set to 71, it keeps a 650 sq. ft. space between 72 and 77 degrees. It does not click back on to cool until the indoor temp rises to the 77 degree high. It then clicks on and cools the space back down to approx. 72 or 73 degrees. The "econ" mode appears to have a 6 degree sliding average which allows it to run more economically. After a week, I began running the A/C mostly in this mode having become used to that 5-degree range. When needed, I put it back in the "Cool" mode for an hour or so. The "econ" mode has been exceptional when away from the building for 12 hours and the energy costs have been very low.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sounds defective. I would contact warranty support. Mine does not do this.
