Because the new design of refrigerators puts the condenser coils on the bottom of the refrigerator instead of on the back of the refrigerator, where they have been for decades. This allows the homeowner a lot more storage space inside the refrigerator, which is a plus, but at the same time you will have to reach a lot farther to get something out of the back of the refrigerator.
