• No you should not have ice on top of drawer. Check the seal of door for dirt and I'd it is sealing properly. The gasket can be reformed, follow instructions in owners manual. Massage gasket or gently warm with a blow dryer if needed to massage gasket.

• not sure but think not. i would say the seal around the door is broken and air is getting in there.
