“Why does a moderately priced fridge come without an ice maker? The whirlpool I bought from Best Buy 18 years ago for ~ 400 bucks looks and works like new. But the ice maker went. And now ANY fridge with an ice maker is no less than 1,200 bucks! WHY?”

And back 18 years ago bread was 50 cents, and now it's 2 to 5 dollars. My mom's refrigerator she had in the basement was over 40 plus years and work like a charm, it died last year, nothing lasts or is made like it use to be. With ice makers your price depending on size of refrigerator Should be around 750 to 1200. I believe it's call inflation
