Hello! For optimal performance, it is recommended that you install the wine cooler where the ambient temperature is between 70 and 78 degrees Fahrenheit. There should be space around the unit for good air circulation. You should leave a 2 inch space on the back and sides of the wine cooler for adequate circulation. -Bianca
