- Answer If you’re running this on “Dry mode,” it acts as a dehumidifier and you will need to drain the water out. Otherwise, you don’t need a drip pan/hose to drain the water. So far my portable ac system has been pretty reliable (1-2 months since purchase), but I always recommend purchasing a warranty from Best Buy.

- Answer My portable a/c unit is on the same circuit as all my lights and fridge and it hasn't tripped the breaker. Sometimes the lights flicker when the cold air first kicks in but that's it.

- Answer It has to be vented outside to work. So unless you're able to cut a hole in an outside wall, this wouldn't work.

QuestionIs there a cover for the outside vent hole? I have a piece of cardboard outside that I must go out & slide out of the way, when I want to turn the AC on. I do this because if I don’t cover the hole when AC is off, and the lights are on inside - BUGS !!

Question1. Does it help to insulate the venting hose, to minimize radiant heat? If so, what insulation solutions are recommended? 2. I understand that in AC mode, the machine does not need to be drained. But do I need to drain it before storing in the winter?

- Answer Yes it does tremendously. I highly recommend getting a sleeve for it. I purchased this one from Amazon - GCGOODS Portable Air Conditioner Hose Cover Wrap, Insula... https://a.co/d/5F5hGlu The hose and connection points do give off a lot of radiant heat. This sleeve has been a godsend. As for draining…I have had it 3 weeks and basically have been running it 24/7 during the recent heat weaves. Haven’t had to drain it yet. It still collects condensation in AC mode (bottom drain). This drain will need to be drained before winter storage, at the very least.

- Answer Has to he emptied but if you do continuous you can use a garden hose to empty where you run your exhaust vent. I use a foley 2l bag and hose to the drip outlet and empty the enclosed foley bag once oer day--works great-just had to put the a/c higher than the foley bag and cut the foley hose to be shorter
