QuestionFresh air inThere is a 'switch' on the bottom in the middle of the unit that is supposed to let fresh air in/out. Do I pull it out to let in fresh air and push it in to keep fresh air out -- or the reverse? It is NOT clear in the instructions...

- Answer Those come in separately, the top fixture is screwed on the top and the flaps just slide in from both sides. I guess you dont have to install them if you dont need them.

QuestionWhat causes my unit to blow cold air from the back of the unit and is hardly cooling down the room?My unit is blowing cold air from the back when it should only be hot air coming from the back.It also runs alot of water overnight which is about 4 gallon.Please let me know what is causing these problems with my unit to occur i am very confused here.I clean the filter so i am sure that a dirty filter is not causing the problem.

QuestionDoes the unit turn completely off when reaches desired temp?I have one from GE now that is 5,050 but the fan keeps running even when the compressor stops putting the air conditioned air into the room. I'd like one that uses less energy and stops running when the cool temp is reached. Will this do that?

- Answer No. But it does have a timer that you can set it to turn off in 2-3 hours if you like? I use it sometimes it works well.

QuestionIs there an outside drain plug on this unit?Is there a drain plug to be removed before using air conditioner? Most of my other air conditioners had a drain plug to drain the condensation out. I did not see one for this model nor was it shown in the set up guide in the instruction book sent with unit.

QuestionIs it possible to buy extender window fill-in pieces for a wider window?I am looking to buy this unit for my apartment bedrooms. But, the windows are 51" wide, so that the extender piece that comes with it will be much too short. Does anyone know whether additional extender pieces can be used?

- Answer Not sure, but I would suggest you go to home depot, and ask for them to cut you two pieces of plywood to make up the difference. I also used caulk and painted the Plywood so it wont stick out. In my case I used Hurricane shutter to close the gaps.
