“Do ac window units need to have a surge protector? Should i plug the cord into a surge protector? Is that the smart thing to do for prevention? The cord does have a lighted box at the plugin already, so I’m not sure if it’s built in already? Thanks”

• Yes that’s what the box thing at the end is. If the power goes out and it doesn’t turn on check the buttons on it to make sure there in the right place.

• It's best to plug directly into wall no surge protector the plug has a built in protector already with reset button if it gets tripped.
