“Econ Mode I have tried 2 new units, and in a room at 78 degrees with the units set for 72 degrees in the Econ mode both units only run for 10 - 15 minutes then switches to the fan running for 20 seconds every 10 minutes, and the room is still at 78 degrees. Room size is 180 sq. feet.”

Try running the unit on COOL mode to see if it actually cools the room, then, if it does, try switching it to ECON mode and see if it maintains the temp you set it at. I purchased 2 of these units and have not had any problems with them. Sometimes at the start you have to bring the room to the temp you want and then set it to econ mode for it to maintain. give this a try. Good luck.
