• not too loud! you can easily sleep without problem of noise!

• I don't know what the DB rating is but it seems like a reasonable amount to me. My cooler is only 4 to 5 feet away from my big screen TV and I'm able to enjoy my movies with only a slight adjustment to the volume, and the cooling power I get from my new unit is worth the minor adjustment.

• I think it has a nice gentle hummmmm which will lull you to sleep. Sitting right next to it, though- it is pretty loud
