Before my first use I "cleaned" the stove top with CeramaBryte Cooktop liquid, applying it with a soft cloth. Each time I cook thereafter, I clean again with the CeramaBryte (a little goes a long way, it is not expensive, less than $4 & you can find this in any supermarket or Target, etc.) Using this method I have never had a problem cleaning the stove top that still looks like new. I also recommend that you use Barkeepers Friend to clean the bottom of your cookware before using. This too can be found in supermarkets and is less than $4.
