- Answer The device does not come preloaded with any city maps. It has a base map, but does not have the ability to add detailed maps.

QuestionI am wanting to hunt public land in michigan that i dont know very well will this allow me to put a waypoint were my vehicle is and when im ready to get back to my vehicle i can know how to get back or is this device not good for that?

QuestionI am looking at this etrex unit for off-roading in the desert . Does it show my way of travel and does it leave as they say cookie crumbs so I can track my way back exactly the same way I went ?

QuestionI just had property surveyed. survey only marked corners. Will trex10 allow me to mark two corners, then keep me on a straight line through the woods so I can mark line. If so how accurate?

QuestionDoes this gps have a bright light. My garmin etrx summit is worthless unless im in good light conditions. Also when compass is displayed does it have a big pointer on compass to get you to a waypoint? thanks

- Answer Hello, The eTrex 10 does have a backlight timeout feature, so you can adjust the length of time before the light goes out. You can also adjust the backlight level as well, if you tap the power button.Yes, when navigating to point the compass will display a big pointer. Thanks Chris

- Answer Hello, The etrex 10 has a basemap loaded on the unit. That map will include major highways and cites but will not include snowmobile trails. Also you can't add maps to the unit either. Thanks Chris
