Yes, it will record the activity if GPS is acquired and the activity can be uploaded to Garmin Connect and you'll see a map of the route. As well, GPS accuracy can depend on the area where you are riding. If you are riding in an area with tall building, heavy tree cover, or close to airport, train tracks, docks where ships use communication it may come into play with the GPS accuracy. For the most part GPS is pretty accurate. Debbie with Garmin
