probably. I had mine out in the boondocks in Arizona, and it did pretty good once i got used to it. but it took me a while to learn how to use it, as the manual that comes with it is just about useless. Definitely need to spend some quality time with it before you go out. What tripped me up most were the "hidden" menus, where you had to be in a certain mode in order to find certain functions. (IE: to pull up current coordinates, you can't get to it except in map mode) Especially well hidden is the menu that lets you switch between GPS longitude and latitude versus GIS coordinates to locate something based on the decimal coordinates system used for a county survey plat. And the coordinate readout doesn't always change as you move around unless you refresh.
