QuestionWill this bracelet independently of anything else show your heart rate? I do not have a heart monitor. Recent pacemaker recipient...trying to stay aware of my ranges etc. when exercising..... Is the display continuous or you trigger it?

- Answer The Heart Rate Monitor would need to be paired with a compatible wrist worn device. It is recommended that you discuss with a doctor what the best options for monitoring heart rate are, as Garmin products are designed as consumer products, and not designed to keep track of any medical condition.

- Answer The Forerunner 10 does not have any heart rate monitoring capability, so no, it is not compatible. You would have to move up to a Forerunner 15 or 25 in order to have heart rate monitoring, and this strap is compatible with both of those.

- Answer Yes it has to be synced to a smart watch. You could use it for instantaneous readings but it might be inaccurate if there is no exercise done.

- Answer The Heart Rate Monitor will need to send its data to a compatible device. Once you have it on the device, you do not *need* to transfer it anywhere, you can look at it on the device. That being said. the device will need to receive software updates via smartphone or computer at some point in its life. Also, if you do not sync the data, eventually the device memory will get full which can cause issues with recording, etc. Thank you, \tw/
