• Voice activation allows you to turn on the GPS and tell it where you want to go.

• Voice activated navigation means that you can speak to the nüvi and control some of its features using your voice, as opposed to using the touchscreen. ^DK

• The one downside of this model is that it does not have voice activation. I was disappointed that it doesn't, but it has other features that are a pretty good trade off.
