Q: what is voice activation?...can you talk to the gps about your destination
A: Voice activation allows you to turn on the GPS and tell it where you want to go.
Q: Are the lifetime updates free
A: This is the model 2639LMT. The L means lifetime. The M means maps. The T means traffic. They're all included in the purchase price of the GPS unit. The older, cheaper units have an annual charge for those updates. The newer units, like this one, include them in the purchase price.
