The vívosmart HR does not have a cycling mode, and was made primarily for walking/activity tracking and running use. I suggest checking out the vívoactive HR for an activity tracker with cycling capabilities. Thanks! (KS)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not at all!! It does not count your cycling as steps (arms aren't moving). You can log it as an activity either manually or by starting the activity timer on the device. Then you just take it into account when striving for the additional amount of steps you want in a day. So that's a work around. However, I found the heart rate monitor just about worthless as it was fickle and down right unsafe as I had to mess with it.

It does, however, allow you to broadcast your heart rate data to view it on a paired Garmin device. For example, you can broadcast your heart rate data to an Edge device while cycling.
