The vivosmart HR has the ability to track calories based on heart rate data. The vivosmart HR isn't designed to track swim specific activities, but if you run the timer during a swim session an activity will be recorded and the device would continue to provide a calorie burn estimate. One thing to note, since this device is not designed to provide accurate heart rate while swimming the calorie data may not be accurate since the heart rate data can be impacted by the water.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. I’ve found the best method to start the workout on my garmin to record time and heart rate, and then go back and edit activity for number of laps, etc. with weight, height, age, and sex input to your profile, garmin will auto calculate calories based on time, laps, and recorded heart rate.

Once the activity is downloaded to the app, you choose what activity you completed and it adjusts the calories based on your movement, heart rate, weight, etc.
