It's rated to 5ATM or 50M I believe, which is plenty times over standard pools or diving areas. I shower with mine all the time and have swam with it too. I would just avoid pushing the one button it has while it's underwater. I love this thing.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it is waterproof. However, there isn't a way to manually track swims, specifically. It will automatically detect when you swim laps based on your movements, but you can't tell it to start and stop like you can with running. It will also continue to monitor your heart rate and activity with the water aerobics.
