A:AnswerHi there - Great question! We comply with all federal, state and international requirements regarding hazardous substances and meet those standards. We also comply with federal and state chemical labeling laws, like California Proposition 65. The presence of a Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean the product is unsafe or poses a health risk. Over 800 chemicals are on this list, including wood dust, nickel (found in stainless steel), nicotine, and alcohol. Additionally, even inaccessible parts can cause the warning. We can understand your concern; however, we do not provide detailed information about what causes the Prop 65 warning to apply. Thanks so much for checking! -Mikayla

A:AnswerHello. Thank you for your interest; we are happy to help! GE Appliances products are designed by GE Appliances engineers in the United States. Many are manufactured in the U.S. and others are made globally to our specifications. The country of origin is shown on the Model/Serial rating plate as well as the packaging. Manufacturing facilities (plant sites, where appliances are made) can and do change from time to time because GE Appliances continues to seek the most efficient manufacturing processes available. We make products all over the world for a Global marketplace. Therefore, your best source for manufacturing location is the packaging/product itself. While we are unable to supply you with the location; however, we can confirm that our microwaves are made Globally. Thanks for checking. Olga
A:AnswerHi Susan- Model JES1072SHSS is not compatible with Optional Undercabinet Hanging Kit JXA019K. We suggest to choose GE® 0.7 Cu. Ft. Capacity Countertop Microwave Oven JEM3072SHSS or GE Profile™ Series 1.1 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven PEM31SFSS. JXA019K sold separately. Keep in touch! SUEatGEA
A:AnswerHi Valued Customer - Thank you so much for your interest in a new GE microwave. The primary difference between these two units is the JEM3072SHSS offers the ability to suspend it from the underside of your cabinet using the optional JXA019K hanging kit. The JES1072SHSS does not offer the option. It is designed to be placed on your a countertop. The other slight difference is in the size of the turntable. The JEM3072SHSS offers a turntable which is 9.6" in diameter and the turntable on the JEM1072SHSS is 10.75" in diameter. Otherwise, they are both great compact models perfect for smaller spaces. We hope this is helpful. All our best! - Vikki@GEA

A:AnswerHello Home2 - If a power failure should occur, a microwave, depending on the model, may display a "PF", "888" or "8888" code.
It is possible to see this display upon initial installation or after power was restored due to a power failure. Both display codes can be cancelled and normal operation resumed by touching the CLEAR pad. You may now reset the clock on models so equipped. - TREY@GEA
A:AnswerHow can I use my microwave without having to open and close the door to just get rid of a stupid message saying insert food when food is in it. The idea that I have to open and close it to just get it do what it was built to do is wild. Like what brain dead moron came up with that idea. Add a weight sensor in it instead and if the sensor doesn’t sense weight on the plate then it doesn’t cook. Considering how easy it is to use a weight sensor there shouldn’t be some insert food bs because the latch wasn’t touched recently then never works because I refuse to open and close it just to cook my dam food that’s already in there.
A:AnswerHello LDSINKG - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. It is normal to feel a warm outer case on the control panel side. The heat is normal and comes from the power transformer. Further, cooking foods in a microwave oven for an extended period of time can cause a heat transfer not only to the internal oven walls and floor, but to the external cabinet as well. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
