• A:Answer Hi, there. Great question, and it's great that you are looking to replace your microwave with another GE microwave! The model is the same, but the extra 2 is an engineering code. For example, if you needed an extra part, searching for the model number that is on your microwave would allow you to see the part breakdown for your specific model. All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. - When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. • A:Answer Hello- We appreciate you checking with us and are happy to help! Over-the-range microwaves have an automatic fan feature to help protect the electronic components, and also helps the cooking area get rid of excess heat. The built-in thermostat automatically turns the vent fan on if the unit is too hot, and will not turn off until the microwave is cool again. You will not be able to turn the vent fan off manually during this time. If you are cooking on your range top, we recommend turning on your vent fan. This makes choosing a replacement a breeze. Please note however, that you will need to use the mounting kit that comes with the model. This is because the kit is made specifically for that model. Ft. with dimensions of 16 13/32 H x 29 7/8 W x 15 1/4 D. Your desired model is 1.6 Cu. Ft. with dimensions of 16 7/16 H x 29 7/8 W x 15 7/8 D.
