Q: QuestionWill this model be a good replacement for JVM1650BH02?
Asked by Senior.
- A:Answer Hello. Thanks for reaching out! All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. We hope this helps, and should you have any additional questions, please reach out to us!- Kianna@GEA

- A:Answer Hi - Thank you for your interest in a new GE over-the-range microwave. We have identified 2 models for your consideration that most closely match your existing model in features and capacity -- https://www.bestbuy.com/site/compare?skus=5291501,5291514 -- The primary difference is the JNM7196SKSS model comes from the factory already set-up for internal (recirculating) venting which is the same as your existing model. The other model we've suggested would need to be converted to internal venting. We do include the directions and the charcoal filter needed to complete the conversion. The great news is all our over-the-range models will fit in a 30" wide opening. We do recommend using the new mounting bracket and hardware that will be packaged with the new model. We truly appreciate your loyalty to our GE Appliances brand and are confident you would be pleased with either of these new models. Please reach out again if you have additional questions. All our best! Kind regards - Vikki@GEA

Asked by Emmanuel.
This question was asked about the related product: GE - 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave with Convenience Cooking Controls - Stainless Steel
- A:Answer Hey there, and thanks for this great question! The unit should be connected to a separate 15- to 20- ampere branch circuit single grounded outlet. We hope that information helps, but if you’d like to view the detailed electrical requirements for the model, those are available in our Installation Instructions. The document is available on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number, then go to the product page and the ‘Owner Support’ section (linked in the options under the picture of the appliance). Q: QuestionI have a GE JVM3160DF3WW that just died. Will this unit replace my unit without any modifications? Thank you!
Asked by Claire.
- A:Answer The JVM3160DFWW has different mounting hole locations than the JVM3160DF3WW does. I learned the hardway that after see it incorrectly saying no modifications or same mounting hardware could be used. Especially the one on the left is like 3 inches towards the center of the microwave. The mounting bracket could still be used though.

Q: QuestionMy old GE Spacemaker XL1400 has died. The height of this model is 15 1/2”. Is there a GE over the range microwave that is 15 1/2”? The old XL1400 is currently surrounded by tile limiting space to 15 1/2”. Hoping I don’t have to get into tile removal!
Asked by CatiB.
- A:Answer Measuring from top to bottom of the installed unit ... it is 15 1/2" ... Underneath there is about an inch for the filters etc. So as long as you have empty space between the stove and the microwave, the total is 15 1/2"

Q: QuestionI have to replace my current GE Microwave JVM6175 Slate... What is the main differences with another model GE JVM3160EFES? And would this model fit in the same space without any adjustment?
Asked by Sternboy.
This question was asked about the related product: GE - 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave with Convenience Cooking Controls - Slate
- A:Answer Hi there, and thanks for reaching out! We appreciate you as a loyal GE consumer, and your interest in Model JVM3160EFES. We would need both full model numbers in order to compare the microwaves – does your current microwave have a model number of JVM6175EKES? If so, we can advise these two microwaves are overall similar, though there is a slight difference in cubic feet, the control panels have different layouts, etc. If you’d like to review other possible differences, we do have a comparison tool on our GE website that you can use to compare the models. You can also look them up by model numbers on our GE website if you’d like to review the features in more detail. Regarding the dimensions, we can advise they are slightly different – your current microwave has dimensions of 16 5/16 H x 29 7/8 W x 15 9/16 D, while JVM3160EFES has dimensions of 16 1/8 H x 29 7/8 W x 15 9/16 D. If your space would allow for a slight height difference while still having enough room for the necessary air clearance, the microwave may fit; otherwise, some adjustment may be necessary if you want to use this particular model. We hope this information is helpful! If you have any other concerns or questions, we are happy to offer assistance any time. All the best! -Sarah@GEA
