is the micrwave vented? null

Hello cliff - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. This microwave comes internally vented, or recirculating, and has the charcoal filter in place. Of course, all of our over-the-range microwaves can be converted to either internally or externally vented. So if you need this microwave vented externally either through the top or the back, then it can be easily modified to be externally vented. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
