  • QuestionJust purchased. Getting high temp alarm. Using for meat only. Meat stacks from shelf to bottom of next shelf. It covers vents - can this affect circulation and cause high temp?

    Asked by Nick.

    • Answer I have a separate thermometer to check the freezer temperature. My freezer stays at zero or a little colder. Circulation can cause issues; maybe try ¾ full. The best suggestion I can make is to call Best Buy repair service.

  • QuestionIs the freezer and it’s parts made in the USA?

    Asked by Freezer.

    • Answer Thanks so much for your question! GE Appliances products are designed by GE Appliances engineers in the United States. Many are manufactured in the U.S. and others are made globally to our specifications. The country of origin is shown on the Model/Serial rating plate as well as the packaging. Manufacturing facilities (plant sites, where appliances are made) can and do change from time to time because GE Appliances continues to seek the most efficient manufacturing processes available. We make products all over the world for a Global marketplace. Therefore, your best source for manufacturing location is the packaging/product itself. While we are unable to supply you with the location; however, we can confirm that this freezer model was made globally. We are always here if you have any other questions or concerns. -Chris@GEA

  • QuestionDoes it have 48 hour power outage protection?

    Asked by Papa.

    • Answer Hi - Great question! If a power outage has caused the internal temperature to be high, the high temp alarm will sound and the temperature display will flash. Pressing Alarm Reset on the control will silence the alarm and stop the flashing. If the internal temperature has been restored before you press Alarm Reset, the sound alarm will stop on its own. Let us know if any other questions come up. Thanks! -Mikayla@GEA

  • QuestionHow many watts does my GE FUF14DLRWW freezer use ? During a power failure I need to run it off of my generator.

    Asked by Bill.

    • Answer Hello- Thank you for your question. The rating plate often lists the power in amps instead of watts. You can find the watts by using the Amps x Volts = Watts equation. Keep in mind, refrigerators and freezers place a high demand on the power source when the compressor cycles on. This is commonly known as the "surge power". When sizing a generator, make sure it can cover the surge power (approximately 2X the running power, and lasts only a second or two). Your local home improvement store or retailer that sells generators should have good online resources for choosing a generator. They also provide safety and usage tips. Generator manufacturers can also assist you with proper sizing and are a good resource to use when determining the appropriate generator for your needs. Thank you! Joyce@GEA
