Hi Lillian- Thanks for considering GE! The refrigerator does not operate on gas. We currently do not offer a gas operated refrigerator. GE® Top-Freezer Refrigerator with Autofill Pitcher GAS18PSJSS requires a 115 Volt AC, 60 Hz, 15- or 20-amp fused, grounded electrical supply. This provides the best performance and also prevents overloading house wiring circuits. The power cord of this appliance is equipped with a 3-prong (grounding) plug which mates with a standard 3-prong (grounding) wall outlet to minimize the possibility of electric shock hazard from this appliance. We apologize for any confusion. The AUTOFILL PITCHER automatically refills when placed on its dock inside the refrigerator, so you'll have a pitcher of chilled, filtered water ready anytime.
