Q: QuestionSeems this fridge does not require special installation, other than plugging it in the appropriate outlet. I suppose this is included in the free delivery and installation, as well as making sure everything is working properly

Q: QuestionThe website function "Be sure your new refrigerator fits. Let's Get Measuring." doesn't work correctly. In it, I entered 34 wide, 69 high. Fridge is 31.125 wide, 67.9 high. Website measuring function says fridge won't fit. Obviously wrong. Please fix.

• A:Answer From owners Manuel on GE web site it appears that this model requires 3/4” on each side for air circulation (1-1/2” total) plus an additional 2” allowance on the door hinge side for door open 90 degrees clearance. Manufacturers make this really difficult for consumers to make exacting decisions. The dimensions provided for the appliance itself are only part of the equation. I’ve also seen discrepancies between GE web site owner’s manual installation specs and the retailers web site.

Q: QuestionThe glass shelves seem to be a bit thin and will flex if you press on them (there is no extra support in the center). How much weight can be placed in the center of a shelf without danger of breaking - can it take a 7-qt crock pot half full (27 lbs)?

• A:Answer Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us and for your interest in a new GE Appliances refrigerator. If the refrigerators are going to be installed in such a way that the doors swing away from each other, the only clearances needed is the normal recommended air clearance on the sides of 2". If either refrigerator is installed so the hinged side of the door is against a wall, you will need 14 3/4" for the door to swing open far enough to be able to remove the bins for cleaning.
