Q: QuestionWe do not have a water line nor would it be practical to install one. Is there a GE model similar to GNE25JGKWW (size, color, configuration) that does not have the water dispenser (too much lost room). We can I’ve with the ice maker turned off?

• A:Answer Hey there! Refrigerator model GNE25JGKWW has an internal water dispenser that is located on the left wall inside the fresh food compartment. All of our current French door refrigerators that don't have an external dispenser have an internal dispenser. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Keep in mind that you will need 17" on each side of the refrigerator to open it at a 155 degree angle to pull the drawers out. Q: QuestionCan I use GE Cafe refrigerator door handles on the standard size GE 24.7 cu. ft. refrigerator? I'd like to use the Cafe black handles on the stainless 24.7 cu. ft.GE door. The Cafe refrigerator appears too small.

Q: QuestionI just purchased this refrigerator and noticed that motor is much louder than my last fridge. Could there be something wrong with it. It’s loud enough that I can hear it in my spare bedroom when nobody’s here but me.

• A:Answer I had an 1985 that I replaced. The noise level on this one was so slight that I checked to see if it was working. I would probably question yours. I find it to be extremely quiet.

Q: QuestionHad refrigerator 1 week and a loud alarm goes on sporadically for 10 seconds throughout day and night. Door alarm? They took off bottom freezer door when delivering. Could this started the problem?

• A:Answer Hello, thank you for your question. We are sincerely sorry that your refrigerator's alarm is frequently going off and understand how that would be frustrating. The door alarm feature helps ensure food preservation is maximized by signaling if the fresh food door(s) or freezer drawer has been left ajar. When the fresh food door(s) has been left open longer than 2 minutes, a beeping signal will sound. Excessive warm air filtration into a refrigerator rapidly increases the inside temperature. Temperatures higher than 44 degrees can result in rapid food spoilage as well as additional energy needed to re-cool the interior. We recommend making sure there is nothing preventing your refrigerator's doors from closing fully. Otherwise, If you haven't done so already, we recommend you schedule service with us by calling 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737) Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. ET or Saturday – Sunday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. ET or by visiting the "Schedule Service" link under the "Owner Support" tab on our website. You of course, have the option of not using the icemaker. There is a switch on the body of the icemaker itself that you can turn off if you should choose to do so. We hope this helps. All our best! Q: QuestionThe LED light for the control panel does not light up. I can see the temp numbers adjust up and down, but the LED light does not light. How do I fix this?

• A:Answer Hi - Thank you for checking with us. In the event someone inadvertently placed the unit in the Sabbath mode, try pressing and holding the Alarm and Water Filter pads at the same time for 5 seconds and see if that restores the lighting on the control panel. If it doesn't, press and hold those pads again for 5 seconds. If the issue persists, disconnect power to the refrigerator for 2-3 minutes by unplugging the unit or at your breaker box to reset the electronics. If this does not restore the lighting for the control panel, you will need service. We hope this helps. All our best! Vikki@GEA

Q: QuestionAre the doors hinged for zero clearance? In other words, I have a 33" opening so the left side of the frig would be against the wall. Can I still open the left door flush with the wall? (Current frig photo attached)

• A:Answer Hello - We can certainly understand tour concern about the water not being cold. Bottom freezer and French door refrigerators have a water reservoir coil in the fresh food section that holds 12 - 24 oz. of water. The water is chilled and stored until it is needed. Since the reservoir is in the fresh food section, the water will not be ice-cold. After the 12 - 24 oz. of cold water is dispensed, any additional water dispensed will not be chilled until the water in the coil tubing has had time to chill again. You can also adjust the temperature in the fresh food section to a colder setting. We hope this helps. Thanks for checking. Olga@GEA

When loading the refrigerator in a moving van, truck, etc., it is best to keep it standing upright to minimize possible damage to the sealed system or prevent damage to loose items. French-Door & Bottom-Freezer models: These must always remain upright, though they can be tilted to get through doorways, etc. We hope this was helpful! Mike@GEA
