Hi Helcha- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for viewing! GFE26GSKSS features a space-saving icemaker. The icemaker is located in the fresh food section, on the left fresh food door. The Space Saving icemaker stores 3.8 lbs. of ice that can be dispensed through the ice and water dispenser on the door, or by removing the ice bucket from the door. The icemaker in the door needs cold air from the freezer to operate. There are vents on the left side of the refrigerator that meet up with vents on the side of the icemaker casing on the door. The top vent supplies the icemaker compartment with cold air from the freezer when the door is closed. You may feel cold air coming from the top vent when the door is open. The icemaker area needs air flow, so the bottom vent is for return air. Air from the icemaker air is channeled back into the freezer through this duct. You will not typically feel cold air coming from this vent. We hope this is helpful. Love the look of a stainless steel kitchen?
