Q: QuestionIs the GNE27JSMSS freezer frost-free automatic and do all drawers have track slides?

• A:Answer Hi there, We are finding that this unit has an automatic defrost system called Frost Guard. Q: QuestionIce maker has stopped making much ice. Usually have full tray of ice, now it never gets past half tray full. Checked water filter and water dispenser works fine. Ice maker light is on.

• A:Answer Hi waytrans - We are happy to provide assistance. When the bin fills to the level of the feeler arm, the icemaker will stop producing ice. Be sure nothing interferes with the sweep of the feeler arm. Piled up cubes in the storage bin cause the icemaker to shut off. Level cubes by hand, if necessary. See pages 16 and 39 of the Owner's Manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60805-3.PDF - Also, the icemaker must be 15 degrees to produce ice. Normal freezer temperature is around zero degrees F. Ice production can be further increased by decreasing the freezer temperature to -2F. Very little food, or no food, in the refrigerator or freezer sections may slow down the production of ice. More food in the refrigerator allows temperatures to remain more stable. Q: QuestionI removed the compartment on the inside of the freezer door to clean it. I thought I had put it back in correctly but now the freezer door itself will not close all the way. I also cant get the compartment off. Help!

If the bin fits tightly or not installed quite right, you may need to give it a little "bump" with the palm of your hand to release it. To replace, insert the bin above the notches on the door liner and then slide the bin down into place. Q: QuestionIf power is interrupted, and later restored, will this unit automatically reset itself, or will it have to be turned on manually?

• A:Answer Hi 0923- Should you experience a power outage or power failure, it is not necessary to unplug the refrigerator. When power is restored and the unit automatically starts, the sudden start will not harm the refrigerator. Electronic models will return to your settings. If there was a short power outage the compressor overload will cycle on and off (not the compressor) until the refrigerant system equalizes at which point the compressor will start and refrigeration will resume. Q: QuestionCan this model be used in an Unheated garage?

Refrigerators should not be used in unheated locations, such as garages, porches, or unheated rooms where the temperature is likely to fall below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The refrigerator may not work properly, and there is a possibility that some harm could come to the compressor or sealed system by operating the refrigerator at temperature extremes. Below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, the oil could become thick and not circulate properly. Above 110 degrees Fahrenheit, the oil could overheat and break down. • A:Answer Yes, and it is so much better than the ice and water through the door, which takes up too much refrigerator space. I would recommend the internal water dispenser and the ice is just below in the freezer section, easy to get.

Q: QuestionThe refrigerator freezes almost all of the food inside it regardless of which shelf and where inside it is placed. The temperature is at factory setting. Is this normal? I've only had this fridge for 1 1/2 months and it's been doing it from the get go.

If the refrigerator temperature sensor is blocked, it may not be able to correctly sense temperature to control cooling. The temperature sensor is located at the top of the refrigerator, on the ceiling above the top shelf. The sensor looks like a dome with slats. Move items so there is 6 inches of clearance around the sensor.
