I believe it is your ice maker There is a switch upper left corner in the freezer.. Turn to off I believe you have it on and no water supply to fridge..?

After 3 months and 3 visits, GE's repairman disconnected my ice maker (it was off the whole time) and the noise finally stopped. So I think this fridge's ice maker had - still has - a faulty switch and it won't stay off unless totally disconnected.

I believe after 3 years of this I need to shop for another refrigerator because, it sounds like it will conk out anytime a soon.
