The dryer requires 240V. It will not operate on 110V/115V. Reset the home circuit breaker by turning off and back on again.   • QuestionHad our GUD27ESSMWW delivered. While the size is good; far noisier than our 15 year old Spacemaker unit. These units are made for small condos/apts. Sounds like a sick duck at the start of cycle and can be heard over the TV 3 rooms away. Is this normal?

  • QuestionI read in the instructions manual that there are certain requirements that allow a washer/dryer to go in a closet. It says if the dryer is suitable for a closet it will "be stated on a label on the dryer back." Can this unit go in a closet?

  • QuestionDoes this unit have one 220v cord that powers both washer and electrical dryer? Or does it have two, one 110v for the washer and one 220v for the electric dryer?

    • Answer Hi - Giolov - Thanks for considering GE! Unitized washer dryer units only have one power cord (sold separately). Electric models should be connected to a dedicated 240V or 208V 30-amp time-delay fuse or circuit breaker.     • Answer You need to make sure everything is level. Floor must be level AND the feet on the bottom of the washer MUST be level- no rocking.

Capacity Gas Dryer GUD27GSPMDG is compatible with LP Conversion Kit W25M74 (sold separately). We recommend a qualified installer or servicer convert the gas dryer to the proper gas supply needed. The conversion must be in accordance with the our instructions and all codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. This appliance is manufactured with neutral connected to the frame.   • QuestionI was told there was no weight (cinder blocks?) in the bottom and it “walked” during operation. Any comment or confirmation of this?

    • Answer Hi Mike - Thanks for considering GE! This unit does not have a cinder block. All current GE Appliances washer tubs move freely within our exclusive auto balance suspension system. It is a rod and spring floating suspension, designed to withstand extensive out of balance situations without the need for an "out of balance" switch. During an out of balance load, the basket is allowed to "float" forward and backward, side to side, and up and down, yet it never touches the floor nor is it even connected to the floor. As a result, the clothes basket can move freely, and this is normal. Also, the balance ring allows smooth operation and prevents the washer from knocking or walking. It allows the washer to go into a full speed spin with a 5 lb. out-of-balance load and the washer remains still. The balance ring is an enclosed plastic container that is partially filled with a salt water solution. The two halves of the balance ring are welded together to form a permanent seal. It is attached to the inner clothes basket and allows the basket to spin smoothly if an uneven load creates an out-of-balance situation.
